With more than 50 thousand companies and 120 thousand jobs distributed over several industry sectors, trade (Section G), human health and social support industries (Section Q) and Transportation and Storage (Section H) stand out,for their contribution to gross added value (GAV).

The economic performance of companies in the Region is showing positive dynamics in recent years, with a turnover representing 17 % of the total NUTS II Centre Region.
